PERCIPIENT ARCHIVES
A place for what would not go in the ordinary record.
Percipient Archives is a contemporary archive of first-person accounts of unexplained experience. We keep the look of an old reading room because the work is old-fashioned: listen, write it down, and do not rush to a verdict.
We are not a church, a laboratory, or a magazine. An account may be comforting, frightening, sacred, or simply strange. The supernatural, when it is named at all, is not assumed to be hostile.
WHAT WE DO
Record first. Interpret last.
We take accounts as they are given. We do not improve a story, and we do not argue a witness out of a chair, a light, a name in a hall, or a deer that would not startle. Classification is a finding aid. Proof is not the point.
The files now on the public pages are fictional demonstration records, written to show how a deposition is kept. They are not genuine eyewitness accounts. They will give way as real submissions arrive.
WHAT WE DO NOT
- Debunk as a sport, or believe as a duty.
- Dress an account in fog machines, demons, or clickbait.
- Publish a living person’s name without their word.
- Sell a verdict. The record is not a product.
Who may write. Who may read.
Anyone who has something that will not sit still in the ordinary day may record an account. You may remain unnamed. You may write badly. You may write once and never again.
New depositions are stored on your device. They are not automatically published. Silence after you write is not a judgment on the truth of what you saw.
